Sports & Activities
Art Club:
The Art Club, supervised by K-8 Art Teacher Ms. Brandi Rubino, is a chance for students in grades 5-8 to further develop their creativity outside the classroom while still meeting the needs of student's at all artistic levels. It incorporates exciting projects that the students may not be able to do in our 'regular' art class and allows them to be free to develop their own styles. Along with creating art, the students work together to give back to the community with charity drives and events.
Yearbook Club:
The Yearbook Club, led by K-8 Art Teacher Ms. Brandi Rubino, is an opportunity for students in grades 5-8 to actually develop and create all aspects of the yearbook. It was set-up to ensure that the yearbook was truly about the students and what they want to remember from their school year. Being a part of this club means that the students also give back to their community. This year, the students will be holding a charity drive for the St. Cloud Animal Control to ensure our furry community friends are not forgotten.
Chorus:
The Canoe Creek Charter Academy chorus is a select group of 2nd-8th grades students. The chorus meets every Thursday from 3:50-5:15 p.m. starting November 5. Students have been selected based on outstanding behavior and skill in music. Students perform music at various school and community functions. Choreography is used when appropriate. Emphasis on character-building motivational songs which help build self-esteem and unity are used to reinforce the school's "Strive 65" character education program. The chorus is directed by Canoe Creek music teacher, Mr. David Gantz.
Movie Club:
The Movie Club, hosted by Christina Delrio, is a place where we not only watch movies but we critically analyze them for story plot, director's purpose, theme, character, etc. It is where information literacy comes alive through questions and discussions. The Movie Club is open to all middle school students who maintain a high C average. We meet twice a week and have a good time learning and talking; which is how it is supposed to be. Come join and be a critic!
Football:
The Canoe Creek Charter Academy football team, coached by Mr. Beau Carrier, meets every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday after school for one hour. The team is open to middle school students that are willing to work hard and never give up. The current captains were chosen for their excellent leadership skills and teamwork abilities. Mr. Carrier has the utmost confidence in his team's capability to STRIVE to win and give it their all each and every time.
